The Growth

The Growth 38" x 48" (acrylic on canvas)

In this work I used only shades of green and several mixtures of blue and green. The color green gives of a plant like feel. The word that comes to mind when I view this piece is "Growth". The feeling encompasses the viewer, just as the bright green encompasses the canvas. The movement in this piece is similar to the growth of a plant. When I view this piece it reminds me of the type of "growth" that vines exhibit. I feel that the viewer can relate to this piece because all of us exhibit some type of growth.

  1. Cool paintings Josh! I realize that painting comes from your personal emotion, but I was wondering if you would take a request. I am curious as to your interpretation of 22 young, vulnerable, vivacious children relying on one main influence for guidance. That would be me in my classroom. I call it controlled chaos. Primary colors and very busy, yet focused. If you should need any motivation, there you have it. I am inspired by others creativity. It's awesome we have such an artistic family. Keep up the great work. Michelle
